Vince McMahon Letting AEW Sign Ex-World Champion?

Goldberg, the former Universal Champion, is reportedly looking to retire with a bang and has been lobbying for a retirement match. However, it seems that this match is unlikely to take place in WWE, as nobody within the company is currently discussing it from a creative standpoint.

According to Ringside News, Goldberg is not happy with the status of his retirement match, and is disappointed that WWE has not given him the opportunity to have the match that he desires so much. He claims that he had a handshake agreement with Vince McMahon that he would have a proper retirement match after his bout with Roman Reigns, but this has not yet come to fruition.

Goldberg has made it clear that he does not want anyone to dictate when he retires, stating, “nobody puts a stamp on my career. Nobody tells me when I’m done, period.” He has also expressed his reluctance to retire under Reigns, only three weeks after recovering from COVID-19 and agreeing to the match.

Sources indicate that word is going around WWE that Goldberg may be heading to AEW, and there is talk of him doing his own self-promoted retirement tour. As of now, however, nobody within WWE is discussing Goldberg from a creative perspective, indicating that his time with the company may be coming to an end.

Goldberg’s last match in WWE was against Roman Reigns, which was the culmination of his existing contract. Since then, there have been no plans to have him return for another match. Despite his desire for a retirement match, there have been no creative discussions within WWE about making it happen.

Goldberg has spoken out about his disappointment with the situation, stating that he had a handshake understanding with Vince McMahon that he would get a proper retirement match after his match with Roman Reigns. However, that has not come to fruition and Goldberg does not want to be told when he should retire.

Goldberg’s frustration with WWE has led to speculation that he may look to other promotions for his final match, including AEW. There are also rumors that he may take the opportunity to promote and organize his own retirement tour.

Despite fans’ interest in seeing Goldberg return to WWE for one more match, there have been no signs of creative discussions around it. It remains to be seen how Goldberg will ultimately choose to end his wrestling career, but he is determined to do it on his own terms.
