The world of crime-solving gets a comedic twist as the Bad Boys of the Miami-Dade Police Department, Detectives Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett, portrayed by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, wrap up filming for the fourth installment of the beloved franchise. Initially facing delays due to industry strikes in 2023, Bad Boys 4 has overcome obstacles and is now officially completed.
Will Smith shared the exciting news and the first official look at the sequel on his Instagram, featuring a photo of the dynamic duo fist-bumping in front of a Ferris wheel. The caption reads, “WRAPPED! Nothin’ but Magic every time I’m with my guy. See y’all June 7 for BADBOYS 4!!”
The Bad Boys franchise has proven its lasting appeal, delivering action-packed and humorous moments since the debut of the first film in 1995. Despite initial concerns that Bad Boys For Life in 2020 would be the final chapter, the success of the third installment, with a box office total of $426 million and a franchise total of $840 million worldwide, led to the decision to create another sequel.
As Bad Boys 4 takes shape, familiar faces will return, including Jacob Scipio as Armando Aretas, the estranged son of Will Smith’s character, and Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, and DJ Khaled. The role of Theresa Burnett, originally played by Theresa Randle, will be portrayed by Tasha Smith. Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah return, joined by new cast members Rhea Seehorn, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, and Joyner Lucas. The anticipated sequel is set to hit screens on June 7, promising more humor, action, and magic from the iconic detective duo.
