As a couple who have often been paired romantically opposite other stars on screen, it’s natural for a certain uneasiness to arise when they watch each other’s intimate scenes with other actors. This was the case when Jada Pinkett Smith was cast in the male-dominated film Magic Mike XXL in 2015.
The film featured a cast of attractive male actors, including Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Adam Rodriguez, and Joe Manganiello, among others. Playing the role of a male strip club owner, Jada’s character required her to be surrounded by scantily clad and handsome men for most of the film, which made her husband, Will Smith, somewhat uncomfortable. Will jokingly admitted on The Ellen Degeneres Show that it was awkward for him, given that famous actors like Channing Tatum who had been in their underwear around his wife were everywhere he went.
During the filming of Magic Mike XXL, Will was also shooting Focus with Margot Robbie, who was then only 23 years old. Jada encouraged Will to get in shape to keep up with Robbie, which he took on as a challenge.
