Regal has had recurring neck issues for years dating back to his first neck injury in 1993 when he first started with WCW. In 2014, he was experiencing pain in his neck so he opted to get a neck operation. Dr. Joseph Maroon performed his second neck operation back in October in Pittsburgh after a CAT scan found that there was more damage in the back of his neck that needed to be taken care of. He underwent neck surgery again in December of 2015 to have his C3, C4, C5, and C6 (vertebrae) fixed.
