The world of professional wrestling mourns the loss of Andreas Ullman, better known as the former wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion Absolute Andy, who passed away at the age of 40 after a prolonged illness. The Germany-based promotion wXw announced the sad news on Twitter, bidding farewell to one of the most distinguished figures in wXw history. Andy, who succumbed to his extended battle with illness, peacefully passed away in the presence of his wife.
In a translated post from German, wXw expressed their condolences, acknowledging Absolute Andy as one of the most renowned and beloved wrestlers in German-speaking countries. Throughout his nearly two-decade-long career, Andy achieved unparalleled success, securing every major title in wXw, including the prestigious 16 Carat Gold, wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion, wXw Shotgun Champion, 5-time wXw World Tag Team Champion, and wXw World Heavyweight Champion. Notably, he is the only wrestler to have accomplished all these feats.
Absolute Andy’s legacy extends beyond championships, with over 330 appearances in the wXw ring against some of the best in the business. His opponents included Bryan Danielson, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Jeff Jarrett, Walter, Ilja Dragunov, and Tommy End. His contributions also include memorable tag teams like Jay-AA, A-4, AbLas, and Champions of Champions, all of which have become an integral part of wXw’s history.
The wrestling community pays tribute to Absolute Andy, remembering him as a true icon. His final championship victory occurred in December 2021 at wXw’s 21st Anniversary show, defeating Norman Harras. His last match took place at Back to the Roots 2022, successfully defending the title against Dennis Dullnig before relinquishing it due to injury. The condolences of the entire wrestling community go out to Andy’s family and friends during this difficult time.
