WWE fans anticipating the return of AJ Styles will have to exercise a bit more patience, as the popular wrestler won’t be making an appearance on the latest episode of SmackDown.
Styles’ last match occurred on the September 15 episode of SmackDown, where he faced Finn Balor and suffered a defeat. Subsequently, he was taken off television following a confrontation with the Bloodline faction.
According to a report from PWInsider, WWE had initially planned to bring Styles back several weeks ago, and his return was even locally advertised for the current episode of SmackDown. However, his comeback has been postponed due to creative decisions.
“WWE had planned at one point to bring Styles back several weeks ago but delayed that return. We are told by a source it’s a creative decision as to when he will return and that it could be any week now, but for those who have asked about him returning tonight, we have been told that it will not be this week.”
The report emphasizes that the timing of Styles’ return is contingent on creative direction, and while it could happen in any forthcoming week, it won’t be on this week’s episode.
This development heightens the anticipation among fans eagerly awaiting the return of “The Phenomenal One,” with the expectation that his comeback will bring an added layer of excitement to WWE programming in the near future.
