Today, WWE implemented a series of layoffs, affecting several long-serving employees within the organization.
As of now, the specific departments impacted by these layoffs remain unspecified, although it is believed that multiple areas within the company have been affected. This development closely follows the recent announcement of a merger between the UFC and WWE live events divisions, sparking speculation about the correlation between these two occurrences.
According to PWInsider, “a few” layoffs occurred, including some employees with long tenures. While the exact departments affected have not been confirmed, it is believed to encompass more than one area of the company.
In an update from Fightful Select, it was revealed that Kristen Prouty was among those let go. Prouty, who had been with WWE since 2000, served as the Senior VP of Entertainment Relations for nearly two decades and played a pivotal role in securing the Logan Paul deal.
Another significant departure is Tavia Hartley, who was hired in 2021 as a Talent Operations and Appearances Manager. Thus far, there have been no reports of talent cuts.
This move follows the company’s announcement last month of a series of talent releases, which included notable names like Xyon Quinn, Jinder Mahal, Von Wagner, and Cameron Grimes.
