WWE Fire Stars After CM Punk Return

CM Punk made his epic return at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames last night at Chicago’s Allstate Arena. Drew McIntyre and Judgment Day lost that big match against the team of returning Randy Orton, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes. Following the match, CM Punk returned to steal the spotlight in a big way.

It has been noted that WWE went through a lot of shifts since their merger with UFC to create TKO Group Holdings under Endeavor. The corporate landscape gave way to many firings at their headquarters, as they move into a new location. That also led to some roster cuts, and some fans may not have been informed about certain releases.

The comprehensive list of people who WWE fired since the UFC merger is quite large. It includes over 100 employees on a corporate level, and many off the roster. Executives and a former World Champion like Dolph Ziggler were all let go.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE did not officially confirm the releases of Alexis Lete, Alivia Ash, Ghi Eburno and a few others. The idea was that they were fired, but it wasn’t confirmed until now.

“Fightful asked WWE in an official capacity about the NXT status’ Alexis Lete, Alivia Ash, Ghi Eburno, and others that fans online have surmised were released. WWE didn’t officially confirm the releases happened in September, but sources confirmed to Fightful that was the case.”

It is to be seen if any of those names show up outside WWE any time soon. They may have received enough training at the WWE Performance Center to really do big things on the indies, or elsewhere.
