Vince McMahon has stepped down as CEO of WWE while the investigation is ongoing. His daughter, Stephanie McMahon, has since been moved into his position on an interim basis. McMahon is still in charge of creative for the company.
Dave Meltzer and Garrett Gonzales covered Vince McMahon’s most recent scandal, where he was said to have paid $12 million in hush money to women over the years. The Wall Street Journal’s Joe Palazzolo and Ted Mann made it clear more allegations are to come.
Palazzolo said it’s “probably not done yet” as they are continuing to report on the story. They don’t have anything “in their back pocket” in terms of allegations and nothing they have heard that was larger than the $7.5 million payout.
Wrestling Observer‘s Dave Meltzer talked about Connor Schell, who was a member of the board of directors in WWE. Meltzer noted that Schell’s decision to leave was “curious.”
“There’s no evidence of Connor Schell leaving over that, but someone abruptly leaving the day before the story breaks, who knows the story’s gonna break, and also is one of the people who’s aware of what is going on in the investigation, more than almost anyone, it’s a very curious move without a doubt.”
