As initially reported by Ringside News, there has been significant speculation surrounding John Cena’s WWE return and the planning behind it. According to a reliable source within the wrestling organization, Cena has been in discussions about making a comeback since the time of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) strike. This revelation sheds light on the fact that Cena has been actively considering a return to the world of professional wrestling, using his downtime constructively.

The unexpected nature of John Cena’s return to WWE has also been a topic of discussion in wrestling circles. Sean Sapp, in his remarks on Fightful’s paywall, pointed out that this run by Cena has taken many by surprise. This surprise factor stems from the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing strike in Hollywood, which has affected the availability of various actors and celebrities, including Cena.

If the strike in Hollywood concludes prematurely, it might result in Cena’s departure from WWE once again. Despite this uncertainty, there appears to be confidence within the WWE camp that Cena will not miss any of the SmackDown dates he is currently advertised for.

John Cena’s return has been planned for a series of dates spanning from September to October, a longer commitment than initially anticipated by both WWE and Cena himself. Insights from staff, producers, and writers at Fightful suggest that Cena’s availability for this extended run is a direct consequence of the ongoing strike in Hollywood. WWE and Cena have reportedly come to an agreement that facilitated his return to the wrestling ring.

Cena has been announced for dates through September and October, in a run that WWE and even Cena didn’t likely expect. Staff, producers and some writers that Fightful had heard from regarding Cena was that his availability came about due to the ongoing strike, and that WWE reached an agreement to bring him in. One higher up said that if he ends up appearing regularly on TV and the strike ends, they’ll wrap up anything he’s involved in, and he’ll return to his outside projects. However, there is no concern about him missing advertised dates in the event that the strike abruptly ends.

However, there is an understanding within the company that if Cena becomes a regular fixture on WWE television and the Hollywood strike comes to an end, they will wrap up his storylines and he will return to his outside projects. Despite this contingency, there is no concern about Cena missing any of the advertised WWE dates in the event that the strike abruptly concludes.
