WWE possibly planning big push for Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens takes the COVID-19 outbreak seriously and voiced his concerns over WWE’s handling of the situation on several occasions. He recently had a discussion about it with Vince McMahon, which resulted in the company instituting a mask policy. A fining system was also instituted, making it mandatory to wear masks.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Kevin Owens’ role backstage regarding the mask policy. Meltzer said that Owens was the reason why Vince McMahon changed the mask policy. While Owens did not exactly make a final stand on the issue, he was indeed no longer going to wrestle if the policy did not change. This was important because Owens is written into the show and if Mysterio does not sign a new contract, Owens and Rollins is planned to be the new program.

Owens defeated Rollins on this week’s RAW. It was noted that “Owens is figured high on the card.”
