Carmella has been missing from the company’s television screens since before WrestleMania, leaving fans wondering what she’s been up to. Recently, the Princess of Staten Island made a big announcement that cleared up any doubts about her absence. Carmella is expecting a baby.
During an interview with Good Morning America, Carmella revealed that she and her husband, fellow WWE commentator Corey Graves, are expecting their first child together. Although Graves has children from a previous marriage, this is the first child for Carmella, making this a particularly special time for the couple.
For Carmella, the past few weeks have been a whirlwind of emotions. She admitted that, given her past, it was hard for her to get excited at first. However, she tried to remain optimistic and focused on having a positive mindset. After several weeks of taking additional pregnancy tests to confirm the news, she is now on the other side of the first trimester and feeling grateful.
Carmella also took to Instagram to share her excitement about the news, posting a picture of herself with a rainbow in the background and writing, “After every storm there is a rainbow; our little miracle is due this November, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”
“It’s just all been such a whirlwind. I think because of my past, it was hard to get excited off the bat about this one, but I was cautiously optimistic. I try to have a good mindset, a positive mindset this time around, and it’s working. So I’m very happy about that.”
“After the first [test], I’m like, ‘Oh, are we sure? Are we sure?’ … I mean, I took [additional tests] for weeks just to make sure they still said positive. So it’s really just been such a mind work to get my head around. But the fact that I’m here, I’m on the other side of it, I’m almost out of the first trimester at this point … it’s been quite a journey.”
This pregnancy news comes after Carmella and Corey Graves went through a difficult miscarriage, which she was open about discussing. Her willingness to share her story with others going through the same thing was praised by many.
Although Carmella will be taking a break from wrestling for a while, fans are thrilled for her and Corey Graves and eagerly await the arrival of their new addition. The WWE family has shown its support for the couple, and everyone is looking forward to seeing Carmella back in action when the time is right.
