WWE Sign 2000’s Legend Before Money in the Bank

Carlito has made a few notable returns in the past decade. However, after much speculation and discussion, it has been confirmed that Carlito has officially signed a deal with WWE.

Fans got a taste of Carlito’s return during the San Juan Street Fight at the Backlash Premium Live Event, which featured Bad Bunny and Damian Priest. The pro wrestling veteran emerged to even the odds when The Judgment Day interfered in the match, receiving a warm reception from the audience.

Reports of Carlito signing with WWE started circulating when he pulled out of an upcoming independent show, and he allegedly informed several promoters of his contract with the company.

Dave Meltzer, a reputable source in the wrestling industry, mentioned in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Carlito has indeed inked a deal to make his return to WWE. Meltzer’s report also included details about the WWC 50th anniversary show held in Bayamon on June 24.

“The fans really wanted Carlito to win, but since he just signed with WWE, he couldn’t. Intelecto is very good for this level but fans were into the old-timers so he wasn’t over. Carlito got a standing ovation after the kissed the ring and Savinovich did tease his going to WWE.”

Although fans were eager to see Carlito emerge victorious in the WWC event, his recent signing with WWE prevented that outcome. Despite the new talent Intelecto receiving praise at the event, the audience’s attention was focused on the returning veterans. After Carlito kissed the ring, he received a standing ovation, and wrestling commentator Hugo Savinovich hinted at his imminent move to WWE.
