Here are the results from today’s (Tuesday December 27, 2016) episode of WWE SmackDown Live (courtesy of PWInsider):
We are in Rosemont, Illinois and your announcers are Mauro Ranallo, David Otunga, and John Layfield. Your host is Tom Phillips.
John Cena makes his way to the ring.
John wants the crowd to give it to him since he missed it so much. He says he does not care what you do or where you go, there is nothing like the excitement of the WWE Universe. There are very few places that compete with the excitement of the All-State Arena. Cena wonders if the crowd is chanting ‘Cena Sucks’ when they are chanting for CM Punk. Cena says that with everything that happened in Chicago in 2016, he thought they would be chanting “Go Cubs Go”. Cena asks if there are White Sox fans in the crowd tonight.
Cena says that Chicago is the city of champions and WWE recognizes that so you will be getting championship matches. The Tag Title is on the line. The Women’s Championship is on the line. The WWE Championship is on the line.
Who will be the WWE Champion to close out 2016? Will it be Dolph Ziggler? Will it be Baron Corbin? Cena says that you might not like Corbin, but he probably does not like you either. That does not mean he cannot walk out as champion. Will it be AJ Styles? He says it sounds like there are some AJ Styles fans in the house tonight. Cena says you can add him to the list. Can the champ that runs the camp do it one more time?
John wonders what is he doing here?
The crowd chants for the Undertaker. Cena thinks about it and he says hearing that makes him think that a lot of people have been speculating his future. 2016 was not a super year for ‘Super Cena’. He heard he was damaged goods, washed up, and part timer. Some are saying that he has one foot out the door and he is gone to Hollywood and not coming back.
John says he is setting the record straight. He is not done. He is not leaving. He is sick of the ‘New Era’. This is the “My Time is Now Era”. When you get knocked down, you don’t stay down. You fire up and you kick ass. John says he is watching the main event closely and he is challenging the winner at the Royal Rumble. John says you don’t think he can do that. He just did.
