WWE Star Goes To Headquarters After Firing Rumor

Johnny Gargano had a remarkable career in NXT, dedicating himself fully to the brand. Unfortunately, his journey to the WWE main roster has been impeded by injuries. Although Tommaso Ciampa has returned to the ring, Johnny Gargano has yet to rejoin him. There was speculation recently that Gargano could be released.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Johnny Gargano was at WWE headquarters this week. That could indicate that they are inching closer to Johnny Wrestling’s in-ring return.

“Johnny Gargano was at WWE HQ this week, though we haven’t been told what for.”

Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano’s return as Team DIY is something that many fans are hoping to see. There was also hope that SummerSlam may have been an option for their return. Sadly, that did not work out.

Meanwhile, speaking on The Brand podcast, Bin Hamin predicted that Gargano could get let go in a potential second release spree. The wrestling veteran claimed that AEW President Tony Khan would sign the former NXT Champion immediately if he left WWE.

“If there’s anybody that Tony would sign if they were released right away, my money is on Johnny Gargano. [Gargano was let go?] No, but I think he’s gonna be,” he said.

After competing independently for several years, Gargano signed with WWE in 2016. He spent five years as an active wrestler on NXT, where he achieved the status of NXT Triple Crown Champion. Nonetheless, he left the company in 2021. Recently, on the August 22, 2022, episode of RAW, Gargano made a comeback to WWE under Triple H’s creative leadership. Currently, he is part of the Monday Night RAW roster.
