WWE To ‘Delay’ Bray Wyatt Raw Return?

The Fiend remains one of the most unique characters to have ever stepped foot inside a WWE ring. Bray Wyatt’s latest creation made his in-ring debut back at 2019’s SummerSlam pay-per-view again Finn Balor, where he won in a squash match. A bombshell regarding his return was recently dropped as well.

However, The Fiend’s booking has drawn a lot of criticism from fans and pro wrestlers alike over the years as many believe he has not been booked as he should have been. Randy Orton has been engaged in a feud with Alexa Bliss since Bray Wyatt has been absent on WWE television.

As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Randy Orton accepted Alexa Bliss’ challenge for a match at the WWE Fastlane pay-per-view this Sunday. It seems a former WWE writer has nothing good to say about the current storyline, namely The Fiend being absent for many months.

On the latest edition of Legion of RAW, former WWE writer Vince Russo criticized WWE’s booking of The Fiend, comparing it to Jason and Freddie Krueger not being in certain Friday the 13th and Nightmare On Elm Street films respectively. Chris Featherstone said it is possible WWE will hold off Bray Wyatt’s return until WrestleMania, and Russo agreed that could happen.

“You know what this reminds me of a little bit? You know we have the great series of horror films. We got Friday The 13th with Jason, we got Nightmare On Elm Street with Freddie Krueger… you got those great series. You know what this is the equivalent of? You know what, in Friday The 13th three and four, Jason’s not going to be in these movies. He’ll be in one and two and we’ll bring him back for five and six. That’s what this is the equivalent of. Freddie, you know, Freddie Krueger won’t be in Nightmare On Elm Street 4, we’ll bring him back for five but right now the plans aren’t for him to be in four. It’s incredible and when you think about why they’re doing this, because they don’t have a clue about what to do with the guy, it makes it 10 times worse.”
