WWE’s Biggest Star Retiring After Cody Rhodes Match?

At SummerSlam, wrestling fans were taken by surprise when Brock Lesnar seemingly put Cody Rhodes over in a significant way before leaving the ring, following his loss to Rhodes in their last match. Lesnar’s impromptu gesture of raising Rhodes’ hand sparked speculation about his future in the WWE, raising questions about the potential motivations behind this move.

Known for its penchant for delivering unexpected twists and turns, the WWE often strategizes to create buzz-worthy moments, especially when it concerns celebrated figures like Brock Lesnar, whose services come at a premium.

Ringside News exclusively reported that Lesnar would be taking an extended hiatus from the ring, including skipping the Payback premium live event. Subsequently, it was confirmed that he would also be absent from the upcoming Crown Jewel event, further fueling discussions about his departure from the WWE scene.

However, during a recent segment on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer emphasized that Lesnar is indeed slated to make a return to the WWE. Meltzer revealed that the WWE had deliberately fostered an air of uncertainty about Lesnar’s future following his loss to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam, aiming to leave fans guessing about the possibility of his retirement.

That was always the plan, you know when he left and there were people going, ‘was that his retirement?’ I was told [WWE] wanted it to seem like it, but he’s coming back.”

Regarding Lesnar’s absence from the Crown Jewel event, it was clarified that his participation was never planned for this year, as he had already been scheduled to be on a break for the remainder of the year.

Moreover, it was hinted that Lesnar’s anticipated comeback would likely coincide with the Royal Rumble, serving as the starting point for the exhilarating journey leading up to WrestleMania 40. Despite his temporary absence, Lesnar’s presence continues to loom large within the WWE community, with his name already making appearances in promotional material for the upcoming WrestleMania 40.
