As we had noted before, Roman Reigns was absent from this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw and he missed weekends Live Events too, starting many speculations about his status.
Dave Meltzer discussed Reigns’ absence during the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio and revealed some news about the Big Dog being away.
According to him, the decision to keep him away from these shows wasn’t made by WWE and instead Roman himself had asked for a leave.
He reportedly asked for the leave a while back and it was granted by the officials. Though Meltzer couldn’t reveal the reason why the Intercontinental Champion took this time off.
It’s worth mentioning here that in a recent interview the IC Champion himself had explained that last year he took time off similarly due to family reasons.
Since Raw will be Live on Christmas this year and Roman will be working that night, it’s possible that Roman Reigns simply wanted to spend some time with his family before the holidays.
