This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw saw the Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins holding an open challenge for the coveted title, and it was answered by Kevin Owens.
Owens went on to have a great match with the former World Champion, however, after a lengthy bout he was unable to defeat the Shield Member.
After Rollins won the match, the episode cut into a break. When it came back on air, Kevin was sitting in the ring on a chair, and he cut a two-word promo saying ‘I quit.’
At the time it was unclear what he meant, but now it seems like Owens is playing a storyline where he has quit the company and WWE is diving all in into this thing as well.
The company has moved Owens’ profile on their site to the alumni section after the show, and now it would be interesting to see how this storyline is followed in upcoming time.
