Kota Ibushi announces he will be staying in NJPW

With AEW being announced last month and the promotion signing some of NJPW’s top talents, fans were wondering what will happen to another top NJPW star, Kota Ibushi.

One half of “The Golden Lovers”, Kenny Omega was revealed as one of AEW’s latest signings when he appeared at the Double Or Nothing Ticket Party at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas last week. Kenny Omega also discussed the possibility of Ibushi joining AEW, last week. However,  Ibushi’s obligations with NJPW might make that difficult.

Now it seems that all the speculation can finally be put to rest, as Kota Ibushi revealed at NJPW’s New Beginning in Osaka that he will be staying with New Japan Pro Wrestling going forward, and will not be joining Omega in AEW.

He addressed the crowd in attendance and let his intention of staying in NJPW be known to all.

“I’ll stay New Japan Pro-Wrestling.”
