Jesse “Road Dogg” James reportedly staying with WWE, position not confirmed

In an update to the earlier story we posted on Brian “Road Dogg” James resigning from his position as SmackDown Live co-head writer, he will reportedly not be leaving WWE and will instead be transitioning into a new role:

“Sources tell us it was a mutual decision to change Brian’s position with the impending move to Fox on the horizon, and not necessarily him ‘stepping down.’ We’re told WWE wants to keep his position flexible at this time and use him as a utility player, so they can see where he’d fit best going forward.”

James could fill the role previously held by Arn Anderson at live events following his controversial recent release, or maybe try his hand at the announcers table.

All parties agreed it would be best for James to move into a new role and the decision was not Ro in any way.
