- Wrestling legend Bruno Sammartino turns 76 years old today while former WWE star Barry Darsow turns 52 and former WWE star Manu turns 27.

– On this day back in 1999, WWE Hall of Famer Gorilla Monsoon passed away at the age of 62.

– From Kris Zellner’s Lucha Report:

Averno said in an interview over the weekend that many people thought that once he lost his mask that he would go on a downward spiral in his career but that has not been the case as he has felt reborn since losing it because he now has his family’s honor to uphold. Averno also talked about the report by Super Luchas in May that he was signing with WWE and said that nothing was ever concrete and that while it is a dream of his to become a star in the United States as he has already conquered Mexico along with having success with New Japan his home is with EMLL. Averno said that if WWE comes with a deal that he would listen to it of course but his heart is in Mexico. Averno then talked about WWE becoming big in Mexico and said that the wrestlers themselves are to blame because they go out and throw around these big challenges for mask and hair matches but never deliver which angers the fans because they get their hopes up and some of these guys never follow through.

– WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio said in media interviews in Mexico last week to promote the upcoming WWE tapings that the company is looking at doing a WrestleMania event from Mexico City in the future.

When is DC getting a Wrestlemania?! Its kinda sad that their looking at another country’s nations capital when they haven’t even brought it to our own nations capital. How does every major city get a WM BUT the nations capital, that’s unpatriotic if you ask me…

  • J-Roc86

How about we finally bring it to THE NATIONS CAPITAL Washington DC?? It makes no sense that every major city but the nations capital has gotten a wrestlemania, now they’re looking at taking it to another country’s nation capital? WTF! DC needs a Wrestlemania!!

@ nick top idea mate i’m thinking etihad stadium is that what it’s called now as for in england what a good idea as well.

having mania in melbourne would be a coup for us the amount of tourist dollars it would generate would be staggering & it would also prove to the world that melbourne is an amazing city to visit.

  • Eddie

WTF? Mexico dangerous? only if you’re a drug dealer, a relative of one or a corrupt politician and/or cop.

Mexico isnt like Iraq and Pakistan where they have an all out war going on in the streets.

  • Stone Cold Truth

WrestleMania in Australia or UK for that matter would never work due to the time differences. Vince wouldn’t start a WrestleMania at 10 in the morning or hell what ever time of the early morning it starts in the UK.

hey I’m mexican and trust me dont believe everything u hear about mexico its a nice quiet and not expenisve place to live and people from other countries are treated even better tan mexicans

a wrestlemanis in mexico would be huge we had already 2 world cups un here so why not a wrestlemania? people from all over the country will attend.

quiero mi wrestlemania en mexico coñooooooo!

@D2K Or Wembley (Football stadium) now that would be amazing, you could wait till it gets dark to start so the arch is lit up and it would be less of a time difference for America (which is the problem of having it in England i believe?) And it should sell out because theirs enough people in England and the rest of Europe who would be willing to travel, and no doubt people from America would come too.

  • D2K

@ Nick: Not a bad idea.

@ Venom: UK would also be a great place for a Wrestlemania. O2 Arena perhaps?

  • Nick

Bring it down under to Melbourne, Australia!

  • simon316

I know i’ll get people disagreeing with me but what i’d love to see is a Mania right here in the uk. As a country we proved we can hold our own by holding Summerslam 92 in front of 80,000 fans at wembley stadium, the wwe has always had a massive following over here and a mania would strengthen these ties if not wembley then there are at least half a dozen stadiums that they could use including old trafford(manchester uniteds 75,000 seater stadium) or for an indoor arena they could use Newcastle metro radio arena which they have used in the past on their tours of the uk

  • venom

UK would be a different location.

  • Sam

Screw Mexico bring it to the UK lol that will never happen

  • kirby4321

Don’t believe everything you hear bad about Mexico so many tourist go there everyday and love it!

It’s a great country and has it’s flaws like other countries but I wouldn’t mind if in the near future WWE would have Wrestlemania there.

  • venom

Mysterio would be in the main even if wrestlemania goes to Mexico.

  • Myers

A WrestleMania in Mexico is a WrestleMania I will have 0 problem with not attending. That country is way to violent and unpredictable.

  • Jon

How about wrestlemania in Toronto first then Indy and maybe Mexico.it too much violence in Mexico right now
