As noted, Alberto Del Rio returned to WWE at Sunday night’s Hell in a Cell PPV event to beat John Cena to become the new United States Champion.
Del Rio, who goes by the name Alberto El Patron while on the indies, is also the AAA Mega Champion. AAA Vice President Dorian Roldan Pena commented on Del Rio winning the title via Twitter:

Bryan Alvarez noted on today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Live that AAA was informed about Del Rio’s return only thirty minutes prior to him appearing on HIAC PPV event.
