WWE releases statement regarding COVID-19 medical screenings

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, WWE had to change their plans for WrestleMania and other events. They continue to produce content from the WWE Performance Center, but there are no fans are in attendance.

WWE officially commented on this situation to Sports Illustrated. All employees present at the Performance Center are being medically screened as they continue to work.

“In consultation with WWE Medical Director Dr. Maroon, WWE Associate Medical Director Dr. Dugas and ringside physician Dr. Westerfield, as a best practice and precautionary measure all WWE performers and staff are required to participate in medical screenings prior to entering WWE’s training center, which is now operating as a closed set.”

The company is following the recommendations given by the CDC and World Health Organization in order to avoid any complications. It was also said that the company is not testing for the COVID-19 virus unless they display symptoms.
