It’s likely more NXT superstars are set to make the jump to WWE’s min roster in the coming months, with the results of this Sunday’s NXT TakeOver: In Your House special likely to indicate who those could be.
As reported by WrestleTalk, Chelsea Green will be making her way to the main roster soon and likely why she fired Robert Stone on NXT. Matt Riddle recently debuted on SmackDown and Dominik Dijakovic will be making his debut on Monday Night RAW imminently.
Velveteen Dream and Io Shirai will be competing for the NXT Championship and the NXT Women’s Championship respectively at the event. According to several reports, neither of them will be winning their matches as they are both in talks for main roster call-ups. For several months there have been rumors that Dream would be called up, but plans changed. It was also reported by Dave Meltzer back in January of this year that Io Shirai was unhappy with her booking in NXT. Bushiroad, Stardom’s parent company showed interest in signing her after her WWE contract expired. No details regarding her contract expiry haven been provided as of yet.
It is also likely the two will be brought to the main roster in order to keep them happy. Last week, Meltzer noted Matt Riddle was called up to keep him happy as he had several options once his contract expires.
