WWE has been doing mass releases of several personnels from their WWE Network, WWE Studios and digital department staffs. One of the most shocking releases was of Giancarlo Dittamo as per the reports of PWInsider.
Giancarlo Dittamo has been released by WWE
He was hired back in November 2018 and had directed a many of great WWE documentary pieces which have been released over the last several years.
The list includes the Liv Forever Liv Morgan WWE Network documentary and the WWE YouTube profile of “Ringside” Charlie Adorno. AEW Fire Big Name Before Double or Nothing
It has been noted that over the period of last 18 months, the projects Dittamo had been working on included the forthcoming Superfan: The Story of Vladimir documentary, which has been the topic of discussions when it was announced over Wrestlemania 37 weekend.
Dittamo had directed that film which has been reportedly completed and had involved Vladimir who was named the company’s first-ever official Superfan.
One WWE personnel who survived the budget cuts this week addressed Dittamo as a “genius” and lamented over the fact that he wouldn’t be part of the company when the Vladimir documentary will debut officially later this summer. PWInsider called the firing ‘shocking’ to many in the company.
Before his run in WWE, Dittamo had worked for several promotions in a production capacity and was one of the top names in the production teams.
He has been part Game Changer Wrestling, Joey Janela’s Spring Break, CWH and other promotions, and handled lots of other film, TV and digital media work outside of professional wrestling.
