Tyson Fury is known to get in the heads of many fighters. This is usually how Fury wins fights before the match even starts. Wilder is no exception to this rule as he has been defeated by Fury previously and has also tied with the man due to many mind games. Wilder is now taking a different approach to Fury to see if this method helps him to pick up the win as the two are getting ready to go at it yet again. At the recent face to face that Tyson and Deontay had, we saw Wilder wearing a bluetooth headset while Fury stared him down. The best guess for the reasoning behind this would be so that Wilder could block out anything that Fury was about to throw at him that could trip up his focus or cause him to become uneasy. Fury, as noted previously, is great at doin this to almost all of those who have stood in front of him.
Crystina Poncher spoke to K.O. Artists Sports on Youtube about what it was like to try to get anything out of Wilder for the infamous press conference. Wrestling-Edge transcribed her comments. She stated: “He didn’t wanna answer questions. I appreciated the fact that afterwards he pulled me aside and said ‘don’t take it personally, it didn’t matter who was up there, I wasn’t gonna talk today,’ so I plan accordingly to do my job. Tyson is always gonna be great in saying what he has to say. What does Deontay have to say? He just has to get in there and avenge his only loss.”
