It was recently reported that WWE has released Ric Flair from his contract, although Flair seemed to be very dissatisfied due to the recent creative direction from the company. Wrestling journalist Brad Shepard recently tweeted that out that the reason for Flair’s reason might have had a financial element to it as he tweeted out stating that Flair’s contract was for an unknown number in the seven figure range – with Shepard citing that Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer reported as such.
“Dave Meltzer is reporting that Ric Flair’s WWE contract was for seven figures. Keep in mind Dave could easily be fed that information by Flair himself so that it’s publicly reported, and allows him to negotiate a better deal with Tony Khan/#AEW”
Meltzer would then take to Twitter, replying to Shepard’s claims by stating: “The idiot doesn’t realize what Flair made in a deal that no longer exists would only matter if he still had the WWE deal and both sides were making offers.”
