Roman Reigns is set to defend his WWE Universal Championship against John Cena in the main event of SummerSlam. ‘The Tribal Chief’ called out Cena recently and warned him ahead of their clash.
Roman Reigns forewarns John Cena
Cena returned to WWE at Money in the Bank and immediately set his sights on Reigns, who turned down the challenge issued by the 16-time World Champion. However, Cena managed to sign the contract for the match, which Reigns believes was a fatal mistake. John Cena Uses Bad Language After Fans Boo Him
Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, Reigns, speaking mostly in character, gave his thoughts on Cena and the upcoming bout. He also said that he will send Cena into retirement.
Here is what he said:
“We like John at the beginning of the show. Get em going. Yell out and bring that yelling charisma and get the crowd going. ‘I think we can be louder’ and get them to scream again. That’s fun. It’s going to be an ugly night in Vegas. It’s going to be like when you get smashed at the table. You’re up big and you feel, ‘Oh man, we’re going home with some money, but let’s keep going.’ If he’d smart, he’d cash out right now. We’ll give him Friday. Let’s have fun, cut promos on each other, but then cash out. Go to Europe and start filming. Don’t go to Vegas because we’re going to smash you, pack you on a private jet, and send you across the pond. Get while the getting is good, the table is hot, but it’s time to leave. I’m about to shut it down. Just like I did the legends at WrestleMania. I stacked em, pinned em, retired em. The other one hasn’t figured out yet, he’s pretty much done too. Cena is on the same path,” he stated.
There’s a lot of good things John has done, obviously, Make-A-Wish, very charitable guy,” he said. “When it comes to our profession of sports entertainment, he’s levels below me in this game. Entertainment is storytelling. I’m the greatest storyteller of our generation and our time. He’s a big name and a big star, but he, like so many other greats, they camouflage themselves and disguise themselves. You see me every Friday night, I have to dull this shit down. I come out there in sweatpants and J’s. I don’t throw on the crazy colors and wear wristbands all over my body or make myself something that I’m not. There’s a lot of different things about John that we can connect to and the good things he does. To me, if he would have just come here and promote his movies — Suicide Squad is a good movie, yay, go watch it — he can open the show and pep up the crowd and I’ll stay in the main event where I belong and I’ll close the show. He’s smart. If I was him and was promoting that movie and wanted to get that buzz, you go to the island of relevancy, you go to the Tribal Chief and you find the biggest thing cooking and that’s me. He’s trying to use my name to promote his movie. James Gunn, you’re welcome.”
We will see if Cena is able to dethrone ‘The Head of The Table’ or he falls another victim to the wrath of the Champion at SummerSlam.
