Former AEW TNT Champion Cody Rhodes teased going to the WWE Royal Rumble, posting a photo on a St. Louis plane.
Former UFC Star and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has not been on WWE television since WrestleMania 35, where she lost her title to Becky Lynch in a triple threat match in the main event of the pay-per-view, which also featured Charlotte Flair. Ronda Rousey’s return date was also previously confirmed.
Ronda Rousey’s original WWE contract has already expired. As reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ronda Rousey’s WWE contract was set to expire back in April. It is likely the company extended it somehow as the belief is that she will be returning to the company.
It was then recently revealed that Ronda Rousey is expected to make her WWE return during this year’s 2022 WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live event. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Ronda Rousey will be coming back as a full-time WWE Superstar. He also revealed the length of her contract. It was said to be for one year for now.
“A year is the deal, from what I heard. From my understanding… I don’t know if she’s going to be there every week, but my understanding is it’s not just like, a match at the Rumble and then a WrestleMania match and then gone. It’s more than that.”
There are many rumored and speculated returns of WWE female stars past that could participate in this year’s WWE 2022 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. Actor and Stuntman Johnny Knoxville, of MTV Jackass fame, will be in the men’s WWE Royal Rumble match. As is tradition, the event will feature separate WWE Royal Rumble matches for both male and female superstars with several surprises bound to take place for each particular contest.
