WWE & AEW Contract Offers To Top Star Revealed

There have been multiple speculations regarding the former AEW EVP Cody Rhodes and former Chief Brand Officer Brandi Rhodes, who recently left the company for a painful reason. It has been speculated that they could be signing with WWE and even work WrestleMania 38. It turns out he was in talks with WWE.

Cody Rhodes was negotiating a deal with WWE

Recently, Dave Meltzer wrote on F4w Board that negotiations regarding Cody signing with WWE might have fallen apart. This indicates that Cody was indeed in talks with WWE amidst the rumors. He also has other options. Meltzer further reported that Cody has multiple offers but has yet to decide on which one he should act upon. It is also said that WWE needs his answer from him as soon as possible for “apparent” reasons, as AEW appears to have also made an offer.

“Negotiations hit a snag. He has multiple offers. He has to make a decision. WWE wants the decision made soon for obvious reasons. The ball is in his court.”

Rumors have been piling up for weeks about Rhodes showing up on Raw or at Elimination Chamber or even Saturday’s house show at Madison Square Garden. But none of them have materialized.

Cody received a negative heat during his final days at AEW.  Cody’s former head coach Arn Anderson discussed the fans’ reception of Rhodes and The Enforcer admitted to SportsKeeda he is not aware as to why the three-time TNT Champion was booed:

“All Cody does is go out there, be handsome, be in good shape, do some incredible stuff, take a Diamond Cutter off the top of a ladder. He does everything you could do to endear yourself to the family or the audience, I guess I better call them,” Arn said.

“They are our family, but he does everything he can do to try to endear himself and they boo the crap out of him. I’ve tried to figure it out. I don’t know. If anybody has the answer, please let me know so I can slap it into him because I’ve tried everything.”
