WWE RAW star Finn Balor, who is a former 2-time NXT Champion moved to the main roster following incredible runs on NXT on two occasions. Balor competed against the top stars in the company, both in NXT and on the main roster. His most recent loss on RAW was blamed on WWE politics.
Finn Balor might have lost due to backstage politics
Finn Balor previously beat Damian Priest for the WWE United States Title. After that, he defended it against Austin Theory last week. To the shock of fans, he ended up losing the title to Theory. It was heavily criticized but Theory has been receiving a push with the backing of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon himself.
While speaking on Legion of RAW, the former WWE writer Vince Russo believes that ‘The Prince’ lost due to the politics. He discussed Finn Balor losing to Austin Theory and was critical of WWE. Here is what he said:
“Again, there’s politics behind that [Balor’s losses]. We don’t know what they are, we probably will never know. No doubt about it, that’s part of the influence, you know. Can you imagine a manager, a baseball manager or a football coach, Ohio State football coach – you fumble, you make a mistake, you do something wrong, and you ride the bench the rest of the season. Can you imagine a baseball player strikes out and now, ‘Okay, bro, you’re riding the bench for the rest of the year. You struck out.’ You really cannot say the wrong thing in WWE, you can’t do the wrong thing, you can’t look at somebody funny, it’s literally like walking on eggshells.”
