Vince McMahon was the CEO of WWE before he had to step down following allegations of sexual misconduct and allegedly having paid $12 million in hush money in a huge scandal. He eventually retired from WWE for good and was replaced by his daughter Stephanie McMahon as the CEO of WWE. His son-in-law Triple H is now the Executive Vice President of Talent and Relations as well. Vince McMahon also lied about quitting WWE recently.
According to a report by Ringside News, they were told by a tenured member of the creative team that WWE is looking for returning Superstars who meet a couple pieces of criteria. It was explained to them that, “if you’re really talented and have little to no controversies that can hurt the company, you’re on the new regime’s radar.”
WWE also has no intention of wanting to sign a Superstar who already has a controversial past. So, stars such as CM Punk, Velveteen Dream (who was accused of inappropriately messaging an underage fan but denied this claim) and many others are unlikely to ever return to the company.
#WWE has their eye on a lot of people. Here’s the rule of thumb we were given: “If you’re really talented and have little to no controversies that can hurt the company, you’re on the new regime’s radar.”
