Several fans would simply agree that Brock Lesnar is one of the most dominant pro wrestlers to have ever stepped foot inside the squared circle. He had two terrific runs in WWE, both of which saw him winning major World Titles and being a huge draw for fans. Brock Lesnar was not seen on WWE television ever since he dropped the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36 back in 2020. Brock Lesnar was also previously called out by a Superstar from Monday Night RAW.
After being away from WWE television for over a year, Brock Lesnar made his return at WWE SummerSlam in 2021, immediately setting his sights set on Roman Reigns. He also sported a ponytail, which was completely different from what fans were used to seeing him in.
Lesnar won the WWE Championship after defeating Big E, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and Bobby Lashley in a Fatal Five-Way match at WWE Day 1. However, he would lose the title to Bobby Lashley after Roman Reigns interfered in the match thanks to Paul Heyman turning on The Beast Incarnate. After a hiatus, Lesnar came back and attacked Roman Reigns again.
He challenged Roman Reigns for his titles at WWE SummerSlam. It featured The Beast Incarnate using a tractor to destroy the ring as well. He came back and started feuding with Bobby Lashley on Monday Night RAW. He ended up beating Lashley at Crown Jewel as well.
In his King of Strong-Style book, Shinsuke Nakamura talked about the time he faced off against Brock Lesnar in NJPW, where he accused Lesnar of not caring about professional wrestling.
“That match was seriously rough. First, Lesnar was saying all this stuff about how he respected New Japan, but it felt to me like that was just for show, that he didn’t really respect the promotion. Like, somewhere, he was looking down on Japanese people.
I lost the match, and that was the first time I cried at pro wrestling after a match. It was the main event at the Tokyo Dome. This was a pretty hallowed stage, and I knew I hadn’t fought the way I imagined I would. And there was, like, this temperature difference between Lesnar and me. I didn’t get the sense he felt any love for pro wrestling. It felt like he was just doing his job.”
