Hulk Hogan remains one of the most popular pro wrestlers in the world of professional wrestling, with his influence in the business never being understated. However, his troubled past concerning racism has ultimately led to his downfall. Hulk Hogan was booed at WrestleMania 37 when he was introduced with Titus O’Neil as the hosts of the pay-per-view, which all stemmed from him using racial slurs in a leaked 2015 sex tape. In 1990, The Ultimat Warrior defeated Hulk Hogan at WWE’s biggest event of the year to win the WWE Championship. He later found out that The Hulkster earned $1 million for the match, while he was only paid $500,000.
Bret Hart claimed that Hulk Hogan had promised to drop the WWE title to him, but later on, flat-out refused to go ahead with that. As a result, Hogan dropped the belt to Yokozuna at King of the Ring 1993. Hart talked about the incident in his book Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling, recalling that he confronted Hulk Hogan backstage at the King of the Ring event.
“‘You told me at WrestleMania IX that you’d be happy to return the favor, and as I understand it, now you don’t want to even work with me, you won’t put me over and I’m not in your league.’ Hogan stood there speechless, so I carried on. ‘Well, you’re right, You’re not in my league. On behalf of myself, my family and most of the boys in the dressing room, you can go f**k yourself.’”
Brutus Beefcake, Jimmy Hart, and referee Dave Hebner witnessed this entire incident, following which Hart had a final remark for Hulk Hogan after swearing at him
“He stuttered, ‘Brother, you don’t know the whole story.’ ‘I got the story directly from Vince [then-WWE Chairman Vince McMahon],’ I said. ‘Terry [Terry Bollea, Hogan’s real name], you haven’t said ten words to me since you got back almost four months ago. If you want to level with me, then go ahead. I’m right here!’ ‘I can’t.’ ‘Why not?’ ‘Because you just told me to go f**k myself.’ ‘That’s right, and I’ll tell you again. Go f**k yourself.’”
