It has been reported that Kenny Omega’s contract with AEW is set to expire soon and this has led to speculation about his future in pro wrestling. There have been rumors that WWE has shown interest in Omega in the past, but now that Vince McMahon has returned to WWE creative, it’s unclear whether Omega would consider signing with WWE.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Kenny Omega wants to have fun and help other talent, and this will be a determining factor in his decision. Meltzer also pointed out that Omega has a few months before he has to make a final decision, so it’s unclear whether Vince McMahon’s return to WWE creative will have any impact on his decision.
For Kenny Omega, and people like that, you know, when it comes time for that decision, unless he’s making the decision to stay, if he makes that decision to leave, that final decision isn’t coming for months anyway, so you know, yeah, of course it’s gonna have an affect.
If he looks and sees that he thinks that he won’t be happy, then he’ll make money either way, so it doesn’t matter. It’s just what his personal goals are, and I know his personal goals is to have the most fun possible.
Regardless of what he decides, Omega is still with AEW, as the company tacked on additional time to his contract due to injury. Only time will tell if he ultimately decides to sign with WWE or if he stays with AEW, where he can continue to have fun and help other talent.
