John Cena Gone After WWE Money in the Bank

The 16-time World Champion John Cena made a huge surprise return at Money in the Bank. The O2 Arena fans went wild following his appearance as he proclaimed that London should get a WrestleMania event. It appears that Wembley Stadium could be the destination for that show, and AEW All In London might have something to do with it. That being said, a lot of fans had questions about John Cena’s status now.

Many have wondered about Cena’s status following his return.

John Cena’s status

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that John Cena’s WWE Money in the Bank appearance was a surprise one-off deal. There are no immediate plans for him to return to television again at this time.

“John Cena’s appearance was a special one off”

Dave Meltzer further noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that John Cena had to fly back immediately after Money in the Bank to shoot for a movie he’s currently involved with. That being said, WWE fans shouldn’t expect to see Cena again for a while.

During the segment, Cena stated that London deserves a WrestleMania of its own, upon hearing this, the crowd went absolutely insane. Given that the company doesn’t often tease something big without having some work to back it, it might be safe to assume that one of the coming WrestleManias might take place in London. Fans have been over the moon ever since Cena teased the possibility.

Shortly after the announcement, Cena was interrupted by Grayson Waller, who came out to provide counterarguments for why London shouldn’t have a WrestleMania. After failing to successfully jump Cena, Waller was laid out by the former WWE Champion.
