WWE SummerSlam is set to take place this Saturday in Detroit’s Ford Field. It seems that WWE Hall of Famer Kid Rock will be a part of the event.
Wrestle Votes reported that this year’s cold open video package for SummerSlam will include Kid Rock. It was not noted which song WWE will use for the biggest party of the summer, but we know that Kid Rock has a lot of high energy songs to choose from.
“This years SummerSlam cold open will feature everyone’s favorite rockstar, WWE Hall of Famer, Kid Rock.”
Meanwhile, another name that is being seemingly included in WWE legend The Rock. It was noted that Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that:
“I asked if there’s gonna be somebody else, and they said ‘I don’t know, maybe.’ So, who knows? I mean, he could do it. I don’t know if Dwayne Johnson will come back, but if he’s going to do it for something, it’s gonna be for 50,000 fans in Detroit, which is this show. I don’t know what he’s doing again, I know there’s a strike on and everything, but he’s always doing something.”
Ringside News reported that they asked about plans for The Rock at SummerSlam, and whether anything is being worked up for him and Grayson Waller. They reported:
“A tenured member of the creative team told us that, “if it’s true, which I doubt, it has not been shared with the writing staff.””
We will now have to wait and see if The Rock makes his return to the show.
