WWE Fired Diva After Asking For Time Off

WWE Superstar Nia Jax recently revisited her controversial release from the company two years ago, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding her departure. Making a triumphant return to the WWE on the September 11 episode of RAW, she made an impact by taking down Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez. Since then, she has been a prominent figure on the red brand, gearing up for a significant showdown in a Fatal Five-Way match for Ripley’s Women’s World Championship at Crown Jewel 2023.

In a candid conversation with Corey Graves on his After The Bell podcast, Jax disclosed her dissatisfaction with the circumstances leading to her release in late 2021. She explained that her request for an extended mental health break was met with her unexpected departure from WWE.

Despite the initial shock, she expressed that the release ultimately became a positive turning point in her life, allowing her to reconnect with herself. Jax emphasized the importance of breaking free from the WWE bubble, acknowledging that the all-encompassing nature of the industry can lead to a loss of personal identity. The newfound freedom gave her the opportunity to explore her aspirations and realign her life goals beyond the confines of the wrestling world.

“I was pretty shocked too, with my time away, and it happened to become one of the best things that ever happened to me. I was able to really deep dive into finding myself again … When you’re in the bubble for so long, you kind of get lost in the sauce of WWE. It’s a big, I don’t want to say drug, but it’s a bubble. You’re in a bubble and you’re stuck in the WWE world and you don’t really see outside. You have your blinders on. Being released gave me the time to actually dive back into myself and figure out what I want and what I want to do.”
