Former President Donald Trump recently made a shocking remark regarding abortion in a new interview. It comes just days after Republicans got clobbered on the issue in off-year elections via Media Ite.
It has been noted that on Tuesday night, Democrats won a slew of unexpected victories in those off-year elections — such as Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear’s victory and the success of ballot initiatives protecting abortion rights — that stunned the political world.
But in a new interview for Univision Noticias with Enrique Acevedo, Trump took credit once again for overturning Roe v. Wade and made a stunning escalation of his oft-told lie that Democrats believe in literally murdering babies after they’re born:
“EA: Coming back to the U.S. You appointed three Supreme Court justices. How do you view the legacy of your nominations and the impact they’ve had on decisions ranging from Roe v. Wade, immigration, gay marriage?
DT: Well, everybody thought Roe v. Wade wouldn’t ever happen, and now it did. And we were able to stop a very radical agenda.
The Democrats were killing babies after birth, killing babies in the ninth month, you know, etc., etc.. I happen to be like Reagan in terms of exceptions. I think the exceptions are very, very important, meaning the life of the mother and rape, incest, etc.
And I think it’s very important. I, I think most Republicans are there. I think when you don’t have exceptions, it becomes a very difficult issue politically. I think it’s very hard to win. And I think you see that.
But we stopped a very radical agenda and something will be worked out now because of what we were able to do. That was a tremendous thing when we did it. But, you know, if you look at the agenda, the radicals are really the Democrats because they’ll kill babies in their eighth and ninth month and they’ll kill babies after birth.
If you look at the governor, the former governor of Virginia. Kill babies after birth.”
