Jada Says Male Actor ‘Saved’ Will Smith Marriage

Jada Pinkett Smith has shared that the infamous slap at the Oscars, which occurred when Will Smith struck Chris Rock, actually played a pivotal role in saving her marriage with Will. Jada admitted that she almost skipped attending the Oscars that year but is now grateful she did, referring to the incident as the “holy slap” due to the positive outcomes that followed.

In an interview with Daily Mail, Jada expressed, “After all those years trying to figure out if I would leave Will’s side, it took that slap for me to see I will never leave him.” This statement aligns with revelations in her memoir about the couple being separated since 2016.

While the true nature of Will and Jada’s current relationship remains somewhat mysterious, public statements from both parties suggest a renewed commitment. Will previously referred to their relationship as “brutiful,” acknowledging the long and tumultuous journey they’ve had together.

The incident involving Chris Rock’s slap sparked intense public discussion about the Smiths’ relationship. Jada’s recent comments shed light on the transformative impact the incident had on her perspective and the subsequent positive changes in her marriage with Will. The involvement of a third party inadvertently led to a deeper understanding and commitment between the couple. The impact of the slap, both literally and metaphorically, has had a lasting effect on the Smiths’ relationship.
