It has come to light that the former President Donald Trump drew big laughs from his “rich as HELL” audience at a private club speech — and seconds later promised “We’re gonna give you tax cuts!” via Mediaite.
Trump recently gave a speech at his private Mar-a-Lago club in support of North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, which was posted live to social media by another club member.
During that speech, Trump joked with the crowd about their wealth as he encouraged them to give to Lt. Gov. Robinson — and less than a minute later promised “tax cuts” among other things:
“DONALD TRUMP: I just want to thank everybody. Whatever you can do to help Mark and Yolanda win this election. And he’s got a tough opponent, not a good opponent, but a tough opponent, a political person.
And it’s not going to be that easy. He’s going to he’s a star. But a lot of times people say, well, this is going to be easy for him. And then they forget the vote. They don’t go out to vote. You got to get out and vote!
But you got to help them financially because you are all people that have a LOT of money! I know twenty of you, and you’re rich as HELL! (laughter)
So anything you are going to, do it quadruple and it doesn’t mean—
TRUMP CLUB MEMBER: WOOO!
DONALD TRUMP: You know.
TRUMP CLUB MEMBER: LET’S GO!
DONALD TRUMP: But he’s somebody that we have to be very, very careful. We have to cherish we have to cherish monarchy to start. You have to cherish them. It’s like a fine wine because that’s what you have. You have a fine wine. He’s an outstanding person. I’ve gotten to know so well and fairly quickly.
And, you know, when he endorsed me, I didn’t have to call him–. He liked me. He thought I was good. All of a sudden, I see this incredible booming voice and a beautiful rhetorical statements!
And I said, I think he’s going to endorse. But he did. He that was he didn’t call me and say “Oh listen, I’d like to endorse you. You know, let’s do a big public deal and let’s this and that. Just the opposite! He’s just an outstanding guy.
TRUMP CLUB MEMBER: Amen! Amen!
DONALD TRUMP: I hope you can back him and write, checks him and do everything. And then we’re going to close the border. We’re going to give you tax cuts, we’re going to pay off our debt. We’re going to do all of the things that we have to do. We’re going to stop crime!
