Trump Sadly Rejects DeSantis On TV After He…

In a recent interview with Fox News Host Lawrence Jones, former President Donald Trump addressed the possibility of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis serving as his Vice President or in his cabinet, signaling that such scenarios were “probably unlikely.” The conversation took place after DeSantis announced the suspension of his presidential campaign just two days before the New Hampshire primary, where he faced diminishing chances of winning delegates according to recent polling.

Jones, appearing intent on reconciling the relationship between Trump and DeSantis, inquired about the potential for a renewed alliance between the two political figures. He emphasized their previous friendship and asked Trump if there was a chance for them to come back together. Trump, in response, reiterated his endorsement of DeSantis during his gubernatorial campaign, acknowledging that despite not knowing him as well as perceived, they shared similar policies. Trump also expressed frustration at DeSantis challenging him for the Republican nomination.

As Jones pressed further, asking if DeSantis could be considered for the vice presidency or a cabinet position, Trump acknowledged the possibility but deemed it “highly unlikely.” He emphasized having a roster of great individuals who have been with him since the beginning.

Jones, concluding the interview, reiterated that Trump mentioned it was “water under the bridge,” although Trump did not explicitly use those words. Instead, he agreed with Jones’ characterization, indicating a willingness to move past past differences. It’s worth noting that Trump, while leaving the door slightly ajar for potential collaboration, hinted at the improbability of DeSantis serving in such capacities. The interview showcased the delicate dynamics between the two influential figures and the nuanced nature of political alliances.

“So that’s water on the bridge now,” Jones cued the former president, to which Trump affirmed, “Totally, as far as I’m concerned. Look, he endorsed me. You know, he endorsed me. And we have policies very similar. Actually, I think those people will all come to me.”

“Since you said water on the bridge, he can be vice president or serve in your cabinet?” Jones pressed. “He hasn’t asked for any of those. Is there a possibility of the joining of forces?”

“Well, it’s probably unlikely, but, you know, I have to be honest, is everything’s a possibility, but I think it’s highly unlikely,” Trump replied. “I have a lot of great people, and I have great people that have been with me right from the beginning.”

Coming out of the interview, Jones reiterated that Trump said that it was “water under the bridge.” To be clear, Trump didn’t say those words; he just agreed with the forceful cue by the Fox & Friends co-host, who seemed eager to make peace.
