AEW made headlines last year when Cash Wheeler was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm. The date for his pre-trial hearing in this case has now been set.
The arrest followed an incident on July 28 in which Wheeler allegedly threatened someone with a firearm. A warrant for his arrest was issued the next day. According to the alleged victim, Wheeler brandished a firearm and made threats.
Wheeler pleaded not guilty through his attorney on August 3 and was released on a $2,500 bond, with the condition that he surrender all his firearms to the authorities. Ringside News exclusively reported that he is now officially facing charges.
Court documents obtained by PWInsider reveal that Cash Wheeler has a pre-trial hearing scheduled for May 7, which he must attend. This hearing is part of the legal process leading up to his trial, set to begin on May 20.
“AEW star Daniel “Cash” Wheeler is scheduled to go on trial on May 20 in Orange County, Florida, on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm, a third-degree felony in the state.
The pre-trial hearing is set for Tuesday, May 7. Wheeler is required to be present at this hearing.”
