TMZ has obtained details from the police report related to Justin Timberlake’s recent arrest for driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor, New York. According to the report, Sag Harbor police initially spotted Timberlake after he ran a stop sign about half a mile away from the American Hotel, where he had been socializing with friends.
Police began following Timberlake, noting that he allegedly failed to maintain a straight line while driving for another half mile before activating their lights to pull him over. The traffic stop occurred in a residential area, where officers suspected he was under the influence based on several indicators: bloodshot/glassy eyes, a strong smell of alcohol on his breath, inability to divide attention, slowed speech, and unsteady footing. Timberlake reportedly performed poorly on all field sobriety tests administered by the police.
During the encounter, Timberlake allegedly told the officers, “I had one martini and I followed my friends home.” Although there was no mention of his friends intervening in the police report, sources indicated that some attempted to intervene during the stop, requesting leniency.
TMZ later obtained photos showing Timberlake leaving the police station, appearing relaxed despite the circumstances. He was subsequently arraigned and released without bail, facing charges of DWI along with citations for running a stop sign and failure to maintain his lane. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 26, and he is being represented by criminal defense lawyer Ed Burke, Jr.
