Alexa Bliss had asked for the release
Billi Bhatti reported on Keepin’ it 100 with Konnan that Bliss asked for her WWE release in August after online bullying, but she was given a break instead, which she is using now.
It had been also reported previously that former WWE RAW Women’s Champion would be taking a few months off from WWE and the reason for her sabbatical was a way for her to return with a fresh gimmick.
However, PWInsider has noted the actual reason for Bliss’ absence is because she is suffering from a sinus problem and is scheduled to have surgery for the same.

We will see when she makes her return to the company and she might be back with a new gimmick.
