AXS TV to end NJPW deal

New Japan Pro Wrestling at one time was a very popular show on AXS TV. However, Anthem Sports bought AXS TV and that changed everything.

Impact Wrestling now airs on their parent company’s network. This has left NJPW in a bad position and they are being neglected for the most part.

It seems there are no plans to air Wrestle Kingdom 14 on TV. With the event taking place for two nights in January, they could have gotten many viewers.

According to Dave Meltzer, NJPW and AXS TV deal will be coming to an end a year early. The network has “lost interest in promoting a rival company to the company they own.” The issue is NJPW “runs the same market as Impact.” They have also reportedly fired “all the key people who made the New Japan deal.”
