On Friday’s Smackdown, Bayley was absent, marking her third straight week off the show. In relation to this, PWInsider.com had claimed that Charlotte Flair would appear on this episode, but the Queen was also absent.

Had Charlotte been present, she might have begun an angle with the longest-reigning Smackdown Women’s Champion ever. Now, if you think of it, Charlotte, like Bayley, has been lacking direction heading into Mania 37, especially now that she is coming off contracting COVID-19 and consequently being replaced by Rhea Ripley against Asuka. But nothing has come of PWInsider’s claim.
This means that, unless the Battle Royals return, the Role Model will be absent from the Grandest Stage of Them All for the first time in her career. And it is a shame. This is a Grand Slam Champion, and yet she is sitting at home with nothing to do.
