Becky Lynch return was a secret
Becky Lynch’s return was a last-minute call and she replaced Sasha Banks after attacking Carmella, who was announced as the original replacement of ‘The Boss’. Lynch was on the show and then taken off, but then the final decision was made for her to replace Sasha Banks when The Boss couldn’t make the biggest party of the summer.
As per the reports of Fightful Select, Bianca Belair and Carmella were both informed of Becky Lynch’s surprise return ahead of time, but the news was “officially” secret from most of the people backstage.
“Lynch’s name did not appear on internal run sheets, and there were segments added to WWE Summerslam to adjust for the time missed in the Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair match that couldn’t end up happening.”
Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins’ daughter, Roux, was also backstage with the Smackdown stars. Lynch was reportedly very happy to greet her baby as SmackDown Women’s Champion as soon as she could. We will see how this storyline progresses.
