It seems that the much-awaited match between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey at Wrestlemania won’t be happening after all. Due to the post-match brutalizing of Ronda Rousey at the hands of Charlotte Flair, plans might have changed.
Dave Meltzer talked about this on Wrestling Observer Radio, where he mentioned how the match between Becky and Ronda might not be happening at Wrestlemania. He continued by saying that WWE might have had this happen to get Charlotte Flair over with the fans.
Both Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey were already really over. Flair was a little bit cold off her feud with Becky Lynch, so this was how they got her back, according to Meltzer.
Ronda needed to get her revenge on Charlotte more than Becky Lynch did, in theory. So they just might do the match at Wrestlemania. Or the match could end up being a threeway at Wrestlemania. That would be the likely compromise.
He didn’t know what they wanted except for WWE wanting three super-over women when all of that was over. They thought they had two, and Charlotte was the third.
He would then go on to say the match and entire scenario was in order to get Charlotte over to where she is viable. The thing with her and Rousey wasn’t planned to be a one-shot affair.
